Video With A Call To Action

Did you know YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world?  It’s actually bigger than Bing, Yahoo, Ask, and AOL combined!  Everyday people turn to YouTube to do research, be entertained, and learn something new. According to YouTube's statistics they have "over a billion users — almost one-third of all people on the Internet — and every day people watch hundreds of millions of hours on YouTube and generate billions of views.”

Today video is essential in any successful marketing plan for businesses. Video is a powerful medium but at the end of the day a business owner will only spend their time and money on something if they know they can get a return on their investment.  There are several things that all successful videos need:  story, quality equipment, precise editing, a clear message, etc.  But the most important element of a successful video for business is a call to action.

A call to action is both direct and directional. The message is specific; "Call today", "click here", "visit us", and "donate now" are great examples.  Each call to action also encourages engagement. A video without a call to action can still be a well-done video, but it leaves the viewer without a direction. Playing a video initiates a conversation, but the conversation doesn’t end when the video is over.  A call to action invites the viewer to respond: to engage and continue the conversation.
